of the Hansch Family
Update Sept 2008 - Hansch Family Tree has moved to Ancestry.com
Our online Hansch family tree has blossomed to over 800 linked family members. We transferred just the
family tree data (and only a few of the family pictures) to www.ancestry.com, the leading web site for
building and viewing family trees online.
Let me know your interest in viewing or contributing to the Hansch Tree(email me tom@hansch.org). To
gain access to the Hansch Tree you must receive an invitation email from ancestry.com(which I initiate) and
register as a user(select the FREE GUEST membership option). Then, you will receive direct access to the
site. You can just visit and see family history or choose to add family members, edit existing member
information, or add photos, stories, audio comments, historical documents, etc.
The new Ancestry.com database is capable of producing a wide variety of information about our relatives -
milestone dates such as birth, marriage, immigration, death, and residence addresses from years ago, as
well as the actual source documents from the US census reports of the early 1900s,military records, etc.
For privacy, information about "living" people is hidden from view unless you are a registered Hansch family
member.
There IS a learning curve using Ancestry.com, so be patient as you surf your family's history. When viewing
the Hansch family tree on Ancestery.com please keep in mind that most of the information you see was
recently entered by hand or merged from Ancestry.com's large public databases, without validation as to
its accuracy, spell checking, etc. Over time, we can enhance both the quantity and quality of this data.
The most significant long term benefit of using this site is ALL of us can add new family members or upload
photos and stories to the site. This is not limited to the Hansch family. It is also a linked site to merge with
the non Hansch side of each family.
Have fun exploring the family tree!
p.s. While viewing the tree, if you come across a "Source Document" be sure to open it. You will be able to
see a digital image of the original document, and some are over 100 years old!
